About us
We, Patricia Godden trading as Pat Godden Consultants (also referred to as ‘we’, ‘us’, or ‘our’) give astrological services as a legitimate interest business in the United Kingdom and European Economic Area. We are based in Hampshire, England. 
 
What astrology can and cannot do
Please read this section so you understand what astrology is and what it can and cannot do.
 
Astrology uses rigorous techniques and methods that have not been scientifically proven and are not recognised under English law. The art of astrology is to interpret the positions of the Sun, Moon, planets and other heavenly bodies, in the light of experience collected by astrologers over thousands of years. Astrology is a divinatory tool. How it works is not scientifically understood but it is used by many people as a means of understanding themselves and their lives better. Astrology cannot offer certainties or give guarantees of what may or may not happen.
 
Instead, astrology may indicate the strengths and weakness, opportunities and challenges, you may experience in your life. As we are an esoteric astrology service, we seek to look at deeper levels of your life including what your soul is trying to achieve in this lifetime. This may deepen your understanding of yourself and your life.
 
Astrology cannot take decisions for you and is not a substitute for your own critical judgement. If you seek absolute certainties, astrology is not for you. You are responsible for how you use any information you get from the consultation. If you have any medical, financial, legal or other specialist problems, you are advised to seek the advice of specialists.
 
Everything in an interpretation of a horoscope depends on the accuracy of the time and date of your birth and the name of the place where you were born. If you give us inaccurate information, the interpretation will also be inaccurate.
 
The process of an astrological reading
When you make contact with us for an astrological reading, we will ask for the time and date you were born together with the name of the place of birth where you were born.
 
If you do not know the time when you were born, noon will be used to calculate your horoscope and the limitations of this will be discussed with you before any work begins.
 
If you know the time you were born within two hours, we offer you the possibility of rectification, a process of estimating the time of birth, and this time will be used in erecting and interpreting your horoscope. This gives an estimate of the time you were born and there is no guarantee that it is accurate. There is an additional fee for this service.
 
If you have an approximate time of birth but do not want rectification to be done, we will use the time you specify. The limitations of using an uncertain birth time will be discussed with you.
 
The time, date and place of birth are used to calculate your natal horoscope which is then interpreted. This interpretation is discussed with you during a consultation.
 
If you are requesting a horoscope for another adult, we need that adult to contact us to give us their personal birth data. The consultation will take place with that adult.
 
If you are requesting the horoscope of a child, we will only work with a child’s personal data on the request of the child’s parent or guardian.
 
The fee for the astrological service you request is clearly stated during your initial contact with us. The fee is for the work of erecting and interpreting your horoscope and the consultation. The astrological service cannot guarantee any outcomes.
 
The fee is to be paid at the time of requesting an astrological service.
 
Sharing of personal data
In the case of a horoscope for an adult, personal data, the horoscope and interpretation of the horoscope are only shared with the adult.
 
In the case of a horoscope requested for an adult by a relative or friend, the horoscope and interpretation of it are only shared with the person of the horoscope and not with the relative or friend.
 
In the case of a child, the name, time, date and place of birth will have been given to us by a parent or guardian. The horoscope of the child and the interpretation are discussed with the parent or guardian during the consultation.
 
Retention of personal data
In the case of an adult, personal data and documentation are kept for at least 7 years. In the case of a child personal data and documentation are kept for at least 7 years after the child has reached the age of majority.
 
The retention of personal data is necessary for legitimate business interests.
 
Safeguards of your personal data
Appropriate technical and organisational steps are taken to protect confidentiality, integrity, availability and authenticity of personal data and documentation.
 
Your rights
You have legal rights governing the use of your personal data. The following lists your rights:
 
Right to be informed
The right to be informed gives you the right to be informed about how your personal data are collected, used, shared, retained, the retention periods and how your data are safeguarded.
 
Right of access
The right of access gives you the right to access your personal data. You will have given your personal data to us when you requested to have your horoscope erected and interpreted. Once we have started work on your horoscope, you have access to that work.
 
Right to rectification
If other birth data become available after work on erecting and interpreting your horoscope has begun, work using the initial birth data will stop until the correct birth data to be used have been clarified with you. If the horoscope has to be recalculated and another interpretation done, the possibility of an additional fee is discussed with you. The cost depends on the amount of work already done with the initial birth data.
 
Recalculating and interpreting a horoscope with different birth data when work has been completed with the initial birth data is considered to be a new piece of work.
 
Right of erasure
For legitimate business interests, personal data are kept for at least 7 years and, in the case of a child, for at least 7 years after the child has reached the age of majority.
 
Right to restrict processing
If you do not want us to collect or process your data, it is not possible for us to do an astrological reading for you. 
 
Right to data portability
You have the right to have a copy of your personal data.
 
Right to object
If you object to any of the work that we do for you, you can complain directly to us via the website:www.patriciagodden.com, by email: [email protected] or by telephone: 07811 975901.
 
You also have the right to complain to the supervisory authority, the Information Commissioner’s Office, ICO, via their website: www.ico.org.uk or telephone: 0303 123 1113.
 
Rights related to automatic decision making including profiling
We do not perform any automatic decision making or profiling.
