Scientist turned astrologer!
After obtaining a first class honours degree in physiology and biochemistry, I went on to complete a doctorate in the purification, analysis and measurement of avian hormones. This led on to further academic research in metabolic hormones and then mechanisms of chemical carcinogenesis, which was pursued in industrial research. I then worked on the registration of new drugs for a pharmaceutical company in Germany for ten years. On returning to England, I retrained as a reflexologist and had a busy practice on the Isle of Wight. During this time, I gained much experience in dealing with the complex problems that people face: physical, emotional and social.
Over the course of about 20 years, I had become increasingly interested in spirituality and the deeper meaning of life. It intrigued me why different people have different issues to deal with in life. There had to be a reason for this and if it could be understood, perhaps they would be more able to manage whatever they were facing. The White Eagle Lodge provided some answers as did many other sources of information including books, workshops and seminars. Experiences during meditation showed a deeper level of consciousness that helped in everyday life. I began to study esoteric astrology with the White Eagle School of Astrology (https://www.white-eagle.org.uk/what-we-offer/astrology/) in 2004, qualifying with a diploma in 2007. I work as a consulting astrologer, am a fellow of the Association of Professional Astrologers International (http://www.professionalastrologers.co.uk), teach and give talks on many facets of astrology.

During the following few years, I wrote two books. The first linked the energy of each planet in each sign with a crystal. The connections were determined intuitively. Holding the crystal that corresponds with a planetary placement can help a person to strengthen appreciation of the lessons to be learned from that position of the planet. In many cases, this related to the individual’s life, how he or she related to other people and deeper spiritual interpretations.

Having looked at the energy of the planets in each sign, I turned my attention to how planetary energies played out in the houses. To begin with, this included everyday interpretations, what it meant at the physical, emotional and mental levels of life. However, it quickly extended to incorporate spiritual perspectives and thoughts about what the soul may be learning from life’s experiences. This formed the basis of my second book.

As my interest in spirituality increased, the more I learned about astrology, the more questions arose that were not easy to answer. One key area for me was the subject of draconic astrology, which is a way of looking at the soul’s impulses. One way I approached the subject was through deep meditation. This revealed finer interpretations of the planets and signs in the draconic horoscope. The mediations are soon to be published in a book called 'Seeking the Soul Through Mediations on Draconic Astrology. Paintings from the meditations are included in the book as they help people to get a deeper insight into the profound meaning of this level of astrology.
Through my professional work, it seemed that draconic astrology revealed different levels for different people. For some people, it seemed close to the level of their physical life. For other people, looking at their draconic horoscope in detail was like looking at light. Although I had been taught that the draconic chart indicates the soul’s impulses, I began to feel that for some people, it gave an insight into the spirit of the person. Interpreting the draconic chart is a key feature of most of my consultations. I state clearly in consultations that my interpretations of draconic astrology gained through meditation have not been verified by other astrologers, but many clients say how this part of the interpretations resonates with their experiences and feelings. |
I have painted many pictures of the building blocks of astrology: the planets, signs of the zodiac, the houses and aspects and used these pictures during talks and workshops. Pictures can expand a student’s understanding of the building blocks of astrology, helping them go beyond the limitations and associations of words. This way of approaching the subject reduces concern about the subject being too technical.
My logo is ‘Understand Yourself and Your Life Better’. I believe that when we understand ourselves, we can further develop those things we find easy and make the most of opportunities that come our way. We can also consciously work with our strengths in times of difficulty. Both the good times and the challenging ones are opportunities for soul growth. By appreciating what our soul is trying to learn through them, we can make the most of our life.
My aim as a professional astrologer is to help clients understand what is going on in their lives and how to work with current circumstances.
